TRISTANIA To Tour Europe With THERION

July 21, 2004

Norway's TRISTANIA will be touring with THERION this autumn, visiting Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, Belgium, France, Holland, Austria, Slovenia, Hungaria, Italy, Switzerland, England and Spain. TRAIL OF TEARS will be the support band on the tour. Exact cities and dates will be announced soon. In other news, TRISTANIA will be performing at the Seelenschmerz Festival in Athens, Greece on October 30. This will be the band's first concert in Greece.

On another note, TRISTANIA have been forced to cancel their previously announced appearance at this year's Mind Over Matter festival in Austria on July 22. "Due to illness, [vocalist] Kjetil [Ingebrethsen] is under doctor's orders not to perform throughout July," reads a posting on the group's web site. "The band feels bad about this, as they had looked forward to this concert for quite some time. They have great memories from their performance at the festival in 1998. Again, they are sorry — but some things are out of their hands."

As previously reported, TRISTANIA recently spent nine weeks at Toproom studios in Oslo with producer Børge Finstad recording the follow-up to 2001's "World of Glass", tentatively due on October 18 through SPV Records. Guitarist Anders H. Hidle's description of the new album is "heavy and organic."
